Snow Shadow Gymnastics Sports & High Altitude Cross-Training Brochures

Combining Health Benefits * Instructional Education and * Recreational Sports

Snow Shadow High Altitude Cross-Training got it's start as a Longitudinal Pilot Research Project for 'Health Benefits Gained while Training in a Natural Pristine High Altitude Environment'. Originated and created by Bruce D. Kirk, in 1992 after 18 years of professional gymnastics instruction. Coach Kirk was seeking new methods to prevent 'Burn-out Syndrome'. After years of researching what and how high altitude effects individuals. He began to design a specialized safe and educational program designed for highly competitive State, National and World level gymnasts.

In 1999 Snow Shadow Gymnastics High Altitude Cross-Training found it's niche. And opened a recreational and competitive Olympic style training facility located in Montrose, Colorado. This location chosen specifically for the close proximity to the Colorado Continental Divide. And teaming up with Timberline Trails Inc., Coach Kirk found this to be one of the best most suitable grounds for training and exercising in a natural high altitude environment.

The following 25 years of research and hard data collected in regard to the physiological benefits gained while training and exercising in a natural high altitude environment. SSGHACT now offers a multitude of specially designed high altitude cross training camps for day and over-night programs to chose from.

In 2011, Coach Kirk's new inspiration to create Snow Shadow Sports Institute, a Division of Snow Shadow Gymnastics High Altitude Cross-Training. Now in Phase II developmental stage for the addition of Arts and Environmental Science Departments. Offering higher educational learning experiences and cultural activities for individuals seeking a combination of higher learning education. In the field of recreational sport activities to aid in enhancing personal health benefits.
